Styling that wig for Shizuo was a massive failure. I knew that wig was a goner, I just reeeeaaaally did not want to acknowledge it. So for Durarara! cosplay I’ll focus on Shizuko for now.

I’m finally starting on Roshaun, though! Lots of pattern drafting for this costume, oh lordie. I’m starting on the tunic tonight and I’m probably going to order some embroidery thread and rhinestones as soon as I get my next paycheck.

I was just informed that AnimeNEXT is fairly reachable by Megabus and public transportation, so it is back on the list of cons I’m considering to go as a photographer.

(thanks ladyikaricosplay!)

Since it’s after school gets out it’d be easier to swing than Tekkoshocon and I’ve heard plenty of good things about the photoshoot possibilities. No matter where I go, I’ll probably have to break my “no charging” rule to cover costs a bit, but it’d be a low flat rate.

So now the question of rooming remains. I know I’ve got some time to figure it out, but I like to have my ducks in a row long before the con.

Anyway, yes. Considering AnimeNEXT.

oh oh I say come to animenext.. and shoot our avatar swamp benders xD Animenext is a good con. Its not overly big but not small either. The staff tend to be really nice and there is alot of good outside area to do photoshoots!

I’ve heard great things about AnimeNEXT for photoshoots and I’d like to go - the difficulty is in getting there. I’m pretty limited in transportation and it’s not a very accessible con as a result. :/

If I could magically get a ride from DC then that’d solve a lot of problems.

And here is what comes out when I try to visualize the embroidery on Roshaun’s clothes.

reblogging this for reference.

I heard it was Throwback Thursday or something?

This isn’t my first cosplay, nor is it the first rendition of this cosplay, but those pictures have either been lost to the internet or are being held for release under special circumstances.

This is from Oni-Con 2009. So… I’ve learned a lot, I think.

(Fun fact: the stripes on the boots used to be duct tape.)

Hey, I’ve got a bunch of new followers - first off, thank you so much! I hope you stick around!

Second, I’m a cosplayer and new-ish cosplay photographer living in the DC area. If you’re following me you’ve probably realized this by now. If you are a cosplayer in the DMV area, contact me about setting up a shoot outside of cons! I can go anywhere a Smartrip card will take me and I’d love to do some more work with cosplayers outside of the rushed and restricted convention environment.

I’m a full-time student and part-time retail worker, so my schedule is a little busy, but we can certainly work something out. :)
